HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Yes, I've been back in the U.S. for a whole year now ( and a week or so) and it has felt good. To help me celebrate the Army has decided to send me on an all expensed paid vacation, don't worry it's still states-side. I'm currently at AT (annual training) and we arrived on Monday. We are supporting the Oklahoma Field Artillery BDE in training as they prepare to head to Iraq. The 45th BCT is in the home stretch of their deployment and will be home this fall. Now back to my trip.
It has come to the Army's attention that for the most part I only speak English. I know, I can arrest someone in Spanish, tell you you look pretty in French, but darn it, the Army expects more. So, they are sending me to Sierra Vista, Arizona to learn Arabic. I've heard all everyone exclaim, "Well, they'll just deploy you if you learn that language". They have been deploying me without the language wouldn't you agree? Anyway, I'll be leaving for Arizona around the middle of June and will be there until December. The Army at first wanted me to pack up Mrs. Dub, Miss Dub, the horses, the goats, the dogs and the cats and move them with me. I had to wonder what they were doing in the back rooms if they thought that was going to happen for six months. Someone managed to get them back on track. Well, as I'll be playing soldier more I should be able to update more again, gotta go for now.
Be safe and have a great day.

Yo dub, good to hear from you. Now back to your trip. In 1963 I went to Ft Huachuca, and stayed they until 1966, over three years. I was assigned to the Combat Surveillance School and Training Center. I was a Basic Electronics Instructor.

I met Miss Bee in nearby Tombstone, Az. I hated it when I first went there but grew to love the area.

We went back a few years ago and the changes are amazing, I went to the NCO club, the building was completed while I was there and I worked there as a bartender. I was very disappointed in what I saw. It seemed rundown and only 3-4 drunks at the bar. The club was always filled when I was there.

The post is a wonderful historical place, be sure to visit the grave yard.

The Intel School moved from Ft Holabird after I left, that should be where you are assigned.

Looking forward to hearing about your impression.

You will see an old Mohawk aircraft, I have flown in that craft through the canyons of the Huachuca Mountains. That was the platform for our airborne radar and IR surveillance systems.

Glad you're staying stateside. Ft. Huachuca, huh? My neck of the woods!

Yet more proof that we are "linked" in body and mind . . . I haven't been to your site in a very long time (I lost all my internet addresses when my computer crashed). Anyway, I happen to look today and there you are, all updated! What's this about you learning to tell people they're pretty in french? I don't think so, or however that sounds in ENGLISH! I think you failed to mention to everyone that you came home last year on June 9th and you're leaving this year on June 16th! Am I that bad? Hope you get the chance to check out Charlie's aircraft and take some pictures. That would be cool. I guess I don't have to worry about you hanging out in his bar since he said "officer's club" -- maybe "mini mee" will smuggle you in. Love ya and miss ya!
