04 May 2007, It's Happy Dance Friday, but I want to fall asleep in my chair while sitting in my connex. I spent 30 minutes straightening my room up after my shift. I've been asked if they do inspections. We do health and welfare inspections for the lower enlisted but it is more in of making sure they don't have anything they aren't suppose to, drugs, porn, or alcohol, and then to make sure they are living in conditions that would allow rats, mice or other creatures to want to live there. I've had my room checked once since being here. Being a Senior Enlisted, we have a little more lee-way in this and they expect us to be at a level that would not need such continued observation. I'm a pack rat by nature, wanting to make sure I have what I need or what someone else might need, I'm also not the tidy-type, I'm just waiting for the comments Mrs. Dub is going to make on this post.
This is what my room looks like at the moment, this is "livable" for me, and since I'm all to myself, that's good enough. I do have the breaking point when I will go through and just do a major cleaning, but today wasn't it.
I did 3 miles on the track this afternoon, but was cautious the entire way. An email came out last night that since they mowed and have been doing work in the track area they found and killed 4 poisonous vipers yesterday. Just another reason why exercise can be unhealthy, but I did it anyway.
To answer the Empress Bee, my changing clothes will be the only bedroom talk you will get out of me, the rest is for Mrs. Dub. I also got a copy of the Stars and Stripes that explains more about the new blogging clamp-down, I hope it will cover some more information that I found over at The Cluttered Eclectic Mind

Why am I not suprised? Your room looks vaguely similar to your apartment when we met. Why didn't I see the signs? I guess I just thought I could change you. So after 15 years of marriage, when do you think you'll decide to have your major cleaning spell? I'm still waiting for you to clean out boxes from 1994!! I hope you've enjoyed your year of freedom, squandering in your little mess, because you're about to be snapped back into reality and Mama don't play that game, so shape up or else and don't even think about brining that mess home to me!!!

dub things are GROWING in there! geeze. mrs. dub is right! but at least you get to keep your drugs and porn and alcohol. that's a relief. we were all really worried about that! are you seriously taking all that stuff home??? oh my. just oh my. (laughing).

Oh my Sgt. Dub...What if the enlisted men that you are inspecting sees this post? All that walk the talk stuff and everything. Yikes! How in the world to you live in this mess?

It looks like several OSHA violations might actually be occuring in that room at multiple times during the day. One you could break your NECK. Two you could break your NECK.
My goodness some how I thought you all were neat and tidy. My goodness that was shocking it looks just like my office. Oh my I think this is the most shocking thing you have ever posted. My O My.
Oh my gosh, I can't remember my room in the barracks EVER looking like that even when we didn't have inspections! I can't stand clutter, as Amanda would tell you, it drives me completely and totally nuts (I think that's the Virgo in me!).

FYI, no, I wasn't in their rooms, they are weird enough to brings pics on occasion.
in his defense, he is in a combat zone. when i was in honduras, we had tents. like in mash. and it rained all teh time. it was muddy, every day. his place looks clean compared to taht.
This goes to prove that you can get a lot of comfy stuff in a small space.
