17 Nov 2008,
Well, I finally made it to Tombstone this weekend. I didn't stay long enough to watch the gunfight at the OK corral but I was able to watch 5 re-enactments at the Six Gun City Saloon. The actors were funny. I walked around and looked in most of the stores. I will have to go back and buy a CD I have been wanting for a while, Frankie Lane, Gunslinger Ballads. I first owned the album back when I was around 10. I remember most of the songs, Rawhide and Ghost Riders in the Sky being two of my favorites.
Here are some pictures to share with you.

Be safe and have a great day.

Tombstone is a cheesy touristy place, but it's fun, isn't it? I was amazed at how tiny the O.K. corral is!

Way back in the mid-1960's, my Dad was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB and he packed us kids up and we took a trip out to Tombstone and I think the Bixby Copper Mine. Back then it wasn't the cheesy tourist area that it is now - it was pretty darned cool and I still remember some of the inscriptions on the gravestones at Boot Hill ... "Here lies Lester Moore, done to death with a .44 - no Les no Moore".

I'm sure I wouldn't even recognize the place now so I think I shall just stick with my memories from the 60's and be glad I saw it then!

It's cool that you are seeing all those sights. I guess you would be Marshal Dub and we all know who would be Miss Kitty.

My hubman has watched the movie
"Tombstone" every time it's on TV
and whenever he wants to, on the
DVD I bought him! I think he's got
all the lines memorized...
Frankie Lane! Love Rawhide and got
a big kick out of the way they
used it in "Blues Brothers."
Do you remember something about a
Wild Goose flying somewhere???
Memories, thanks.
~~~Blessings~~~
