28 March 2007, I thought I would share some pictures with you today. This is a jingle truck, sorry it's out of focus. The name comes from the fact that they hang small chains all around it so that it "jingles" while they drive. Don't ask me why.

We heard the bridge is out, do you see a bridge?

One of the projects we as international partners are trying to fix here, the roads, or lack of.

This is much better.

This is Pol - e - Charki village.

One of many friendly faces we saw on our trip today.
This trip is also good if you need to tenderize some meat, I felt quite tender afterwards. Be safe and have a great day.

Please tell me you didn't drive across the bridge!!! I think they're are some "jingle trucks" on I-40 everyday during rush hour. Do you think you can just bring some of those kids home with you? I think MissDub needs some siblings (she disagrees)

Thanks for giving us a look-see at the place you're currently residing in. It's good for us to see how others live and what we're doing in Afghanistan.

I love the photos I've seen of the Afghani people. And children are beautiful no matter where they are!
I'd hate being in the dust - any place that can eat your engines is no place for your sinuses!!!

Are you ready to be tagged again?
This one is easier...If you don't have the time for it, no sweat. It's on my blog.

Wow after that road trip I keep tasting dust in my mouth. Wow, was it scary at all? How long were you out there?

I'm giggling at all the dust comments; that's par for the course out here! Doesn't mean I like it, and it's so bad for breathing, but after almost 17 years here in the desert, you just accept it as a fact of life.

That water over the road reminds of some pretty silly drivers here. If a driver moves around the barricades on a washed out closed road and subsequently has to be rescued, then the driver is fined for the cost of the rescue. It's called the "Stupid Motorist Law" - don'tcha love it?!

The chains are supposed to try to cut down on pebbles and gravel flying out from under the trucks. The gravel trucks here in Colorado are starting to do that. It actually does work! Cute pics of the kids! Stay safe.

That dust is about as bad as our yellow/green pollen dust is here in ATL. Great pictures!...
