31 March 2007, The last day of the month, yippee!! As many of you know, I've been here since June 21st, 2006. Many of you want to know when I'm going home. Well, wouldn't we all like to know that. I have a vague idea of when I'm leaving Afghanistan. The Army wants me to go to school upon returning to the states. It's only two weeks long so that isn't all that bad. I could have picked a better location, hehe. So where are they sending the non-infantry Sgt? Why, Ft. Bragg, N.C. Yep, the Infantry school headquarters for a non-infantry guy in a non-infantry school. Well, at least I'll be back in the states. Now, this is the Army, and for those of you who don't know, things always change, so I may be going to school or I may not be going. I don't know yet for sure. However, to err on the side of caution, let's say I will be home in OKC by June 25th 2007. Final count for that day is 85 days and a wake up. We are under 90.
Lt. S got a pre-fab desk for his little cubby hole so I put it together for him today. (The last thing he built crashed down on a Captain when someone threw a CD on it, no kidding).
It's been trying to rain all day and just started up a few minutes ago. Just like home. We have had a visitor here for the last couple of days, and I'll post about that tomorrow. Be safe and have a great day.

Maybe you could post one of those nifty count-down timers at the top of your blog so everyone will know when you're supposed to head home? You could label it as "anticipated ship date" or something like that just in case the Army does what the Army likes to do!

Happy Weekend to you and fyi, I've had some pretty good "relationships" in a corner or two but that was years ago! Wink, wink!

Raining here today too as it has for the last week off and on. Everything is soggy wet. I thought Spring had finally tried to slip in but they say my weather will be back down in the 20's at night by next weekend.

My countdown is on too, 6 days away till my son arrives for Easter. Yahooooooooo.

Have a great weekend Sgt, stay safe!

Speaking of rain ... We have measured 5" in two days! Thank goodness we're at the top of the hill. I'm ready for some sunshine. Our yard looks like a lake full of weeds. I'm really going to need that new lawn tractor when it dries up enough to mow! So far, the goats only want to be petted, they're not munching the grass. They are eating the wood in the barn. With regard to school, 2 weeks will be a snap! I don't even consider that an inconvience after being apart for a year now! Just as long as we get our family vacation, I will be happy!

will they let you come home before the school? I don't know if I would want to or not in your boots. Come home for a few days just to leave again? even if for only two weeks........
Well, I tell you what, when you get home there will be a lot of people at the airport waving and cheering that you are home again. That has to make you feel good. Your blog is one of the most popular that I have seen. and that must make you feel good too. Keep it safe.

I'm in California, so I won't be at the airport, but when I know you're heading back I will salute you from here. Stay safe and God bless you for protecting our freedom.

You be safe SGT. DUB. Hope everyone is feeling good over there. Have you heard anything on The Brit's that were caught? Man oh Man. Well, that is terrible about the thing falling apart on a captain. You seem to build alot of stuff over there for people. What are they going to do when you leave? Geez, I bet they are hating the idea of you leaving. So if they are sending you to school does that mean they will try to bring you back? So many questions sorry. If we ever sat down together, oh my god I would talk to you death. :)

Well, less than 90 days is a good thing.

Here's to a quick 85 days and an early wake up call!

You'd best get that new lawn tractor for MrsDub. I think she's mentioned in every one of her comments for the last week!

Keep safe, and here's to a fast 85 days.

I wish I was independently wealthy so I could show up at your homecoming, too! We'll all have to post a big "Welcome Home" on our sites just for you!!!!
My 60th (ugh...)B-Day is the 26th of June so the countdown will be easy to remember for me. The 25th is my granddaughter's BD.
You'll be home just in time for tic and chigger season and I bet even they'll look good to you!!!
