Bob stood over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity. He waggled, looked up, looked down, waggled again, but didn't start his backswing. Finally his exasperated partner asked, "what the heck is taking so long?" "My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse," Bob explained. "I want to make a perfect shot." "Good lord!" his companion exclaimed. "You don't have a snowball's chance in hell of hitting her from here."
There, that feels better. Actually I love Mrs. Dub quite a bit, and she knows my golf swing. Speaking of the family, here's a couple of pictures of us back home before I headed out again to wonderful Afghanistan.
Depending on the immediate future, (the next year) I would like to get one more horse. We have two now. My honey do list Mrs Dub brings up now and then includes almost 1,000 feet of pipe and cable fence, a barn, remodeling the kitchen and master bath. She told me last night that the "old" lawn tractor is fixed and ready to be picked up. This will make life much more bearable for all of us. We only have about 1 1/2 acres that stays manicured and the rest of the 5 acres is wild. On my list is to get that other 3 1/2 acres growing a nice mixture of grasses for the horses to munch on.
It's been a good day and I got those signs done this morning without any problems. Then SSG T saw them and wanted two for himself. No problem, I actually printed extra.
Next week is also National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Have you said Thank You or given your local 911 dispatcher a hug today? Well, I told mine last week thank you, but that was for the boxes they sent me. There aren't very many days in a year that they get bored and it's not a job for just anyone. It takes a special gift to try and keep someone calm during a crisis and dispatchers have always been behind the scenes at every major crisis we have seen. A big THANK YOU to each and everyone of them out there making sure you get the assistance you need from us.

Now, I'm not telling you to dial 911 just to say thank you, but a card mailed or delivered would be nice.
Be safe and have a great day.

Thank you for sharing your family pictures. Very fine looking. And I love the horse... beautiful country side too.
Stay safe.
So what you're saying is you'd like to hit me in the head with a golf ball? Also, I'm so glad that having my "OLD" lawn tractor repaired will make it more bearable for "US"! Gee, I was a little worried that it might inconvenience you if I had to keep using the push mower! Just kidding, you know I love you too and man, we look like the cover of Horse & Rider Magazine!!!! BTW, I'll buy you a horse IF you buy me a new lawn mower (hint hint). Also, those darn goats are doing much to help with the yardwork either. MissDub did help with the weed killer last night. At least she wandered around the yard, talking on her cell phone, while it spilled onto the yard.
the joke is great. I'll have to share that with the golf fans at work.
your family pictures are lovely as well. :)

SgtDub, Loved the joke, but then that's what I'm into.
Great looking family and wow, 5 acres. We live in the city and I would love to stretch out a bit. Lots of work though.
I am going to go do the com-center salute right now. Gosh I'm starting to feel guilty here for lagging. See you and MrsDub tomorrow. Have a great day and stay SAFE!

Due to back problems I haven't swung a golf club in too many years but I did love that joke! I'm hoping to get back out to a golf course this year, I really miss playing!
When I was looking at your family pictures, all I could hear were Garth Brooks tunes running through my head! What a great looking threesome you make!
And thanks for the shout-out to the 911 dispatchers, I'm sure that they all appreciate it! I know I do!
As a new-comer here I really loved seeing the pictures of your lovely family.
Thanks for sharing.
I think I actually recognized someone in that pic. hmmm
Sounds like you're gonna be a busy man when you get home.
Beautiful photos!
Mrs. Dub cracks me up! And she's gorgeous. You're a lucky man.
Found your blog through the link from CapnBob's tribute and enjoyed it thoroughly. You have a beautiful family! Stay safe & God bless you and your family!
hmm. I thought her old lawnmower was in Afghanistan?
Great pics. I love the country here. I don't want to leave OK.
this may make you laugh, but I am absolutely terrified of riding horses. I can be around them, but riding.....no way. One time i did, it ran away, threw me of and stepped on my leg and shoulder. man it hurt.
