09 April 2007. I had a couple of different things come to mind about posting for today, but my day didn't lend a helping hand with it. No problems here, don't worry. I started off, with I have some pictures from a supply drop at a school. I will do this one later this week. My second thought was to post about some new sites I found about Afghanistan. I stumbled upon a directory of sorts that lists many sites dedicated to the struggle here in Afghanistan, but I'll do that one later too. It will be interesting as I found some of them to be negative, others hopeful and still more much happier. Along with those, there was more information about the government, the military, the business opportunities and so on.
I started my day off with no particular plans of doing much outside of the office. I ended up going to a meeting at the police district headquarters during my morning and a meeting at ISAF during the afternoon. Then after all that a company meeting with the First Sergeant. Don't tell Oregon, but I'm glad they canceled the other meeting that was on my schedule for this evening, NCODP. That might have been what did it for me. I was in no particular mood today, but after the First Sergeant's meeting I was in a pretty good mood. No, this isn't much of a stretch for me as you might know, I stay in a good mood most of the time.
Can someone speak with Al Gore and find out why Ohio had a White Easter? Speaking of Global Warming and Easter. You do realize that believing in this stuff is actually denying Christ as Peter did in the garden? That to put stock in Global Warming is rejecting a higher power, a creator, my God. If Easter was about Jesus resurrecting from the grave, then God is in control of all we do, and the earth will be around and operating as long as He sees fit.
I have been reading some great posts lately out there in my little circle of the blogsphere. I want to say thank you and keep it up. I want to also say thank you to each one of you who truly support the men and women wearing the uniforms of the military forces, U.S., British, Canadian, French, German, Afghan and Iraqi. I am by no means an expert on much, but having been in this country for a total of 20 months on two separate occasions now, I know what is working and what isn't. There is no easy fix, we spent 30+ years in Germany before Berlin became one city united, we are still in Korea after 50+ years. There is some fine tuning that needs to be done, some ideas and programs probably scrapped all together, but we can not under any circumstances quit. Quiting and failure are simply not an option against this enemy.
Well, for not knowing what I wanted to put in this post, I think I've said a mouthful.
West Coast, Happy Funday, East Coast, Happy Monkey Monday. Be safe and have a great day.

good points aboiut Berlin and Korea. Especially Korea, where there is still killings on the line. NK does not want peace, if they had peace, then the Jong-Il's would not have such a strong, secure grip on power there.
It is the same with Iraq and Afghaninstan. The people that are fomenting the insurrection and terror against Democratic government are using that same strife as a means of perpetuating their grip on power. Peace would leave them in a place they do not want to be, out of abosolute control over their followers.

I had to absolutely re-read your post Sgt... I'm really loopy today. I first read it as believeing in Easter is the same as Peter denying Christ... re-read and now I know your talking about believeing in Global Warming... I think I need a nap.

Stay safe ...

Your post was a little confusing to me too, and we all know I'm easily confused - what were we talking about? Easter or Al Gore?

Even though I was somewhat confused overall, I totally agree with the ending about there being no easy fixes to this war, or to any other war that has been fought. But you don't just take your toys out of the sandbox and go home. You would think people would have learned that by now!

Excellent post. We support you and pray for your safe return and the safe return of everyone serving in this conflict.

Al Gore...He's getting richer by the minute over this global warming. I remember in the 80s it was going to return to the ice age. I to think there is a much higher power that will determine what will happen to this earth and when.

Keep the information coming. At least we know we are being told the truth. God Bless :)

Yep, we had sleet and a few snow flakes here too. Now we are supposed to be in the 80's. Crazy Texas weather!!

Great post!

It's cold and snowy here in Wisconsin this Easter. We could use a little global warming ;)

I enjoyed your photos the other day from Ghar.

Great post, and about quiting>? You hit the nail right on the head. It isn't an option. When did so many Americans turn from being fighters who stood up for right in the world into defeatists? It saddens me.

Again, you're correct all around Sgt. Correct on global warming and correct on sticking with the job. My prayers are with you and yours. Also, I love your slideshow. Your blog's getting better all the time.

Okay, so I'm not the only one who had a bit of a time reading you today. Since MrsDub said it, I can admit it out loud.

Anyway, can't stop by without leaving a comment, so just letting you know I was here!

Stay safe.

Well, I got what you were saying, mainly because I grew up in a family with several ministers in our background and my brother is a pastor; it's like a second language to me! We are to be good stewards but not go running around doing the "Sky is Falling!" routine, either...

Al Gore is going to make money off of this with the carbon footprints...as Glenn Beck says, "Follow the money trail..."

Oh, there's a special photo for you today at my place, especially for you. Hope you get a kick out of it!

Yup, God is sovereign after all. Nice point. He is easier to get my head around anyway, easier at least than trying to understand our politicians!!
