06 February 2007, Things I can't tell you.
This does suck as I have a great story to tell. One that got my adrenaline pumping that now, 45 minutes later, I"m still a tad bit hyper. Operational Security (OPSEC) is the key. This is what protects us day and night. I sit here and contemplate what I can and cannot say each day. Today's story is no different. Can I relate the highlights without divulging things, I just tried and it didn't work, sorry.
What I can tell you is it involved me taking a person out of a vehicle, using an arm bar take-down and putting this guy on the concrete. (My police training is still intact.) I kneeled there on this guy for a good 5 minutes while next to a vehicle I had no idea what was inside it. All turned out well though. Now doesn't that just not satisfy your interest? I probably shouldn't have said anything, I'm sorry.
In other news, CPT C dragged me to the gym today to lift weights. Now he will say that he didn't drag me there, that he just asked, but regardless, I went. We did a light work-out, which is my first since 3 weeks ago. I did make it to two of the ab labs during that time, but I definitely need to get back into it big time.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous today with the sun shining. I wanted to take a picture of me sunning, but I'm afraid the overexposure of my white legs would have cancelled out the picture all together. I've been reading The Pioneer Woman and she is going through all the benefits of a SLR digital camera versus a point and click. Mrs. Dub is being very nice to me, and letting me buy a new rifle, one that I can use at work back home, so nows not the time to ask for a new more expensive camera, but I'll work it into the conversation soon, (like with this post, hehe). I think the Nikon 50 or 70S would be good for me, and of course my family. I could take wonderful photos of my lovely wife and my wonderful daughter. (You think this is working yet?)
Thank you to everyone who did a 3 beautiful things yesterday. I hope it helped you just a bit too. Be safe and have a great day.

Don't push your luck! I'm still mad that you bought yourself the digital camera to take with you on the first deployment. We have lots of pictures of the Afghans, but none of your "lovely wife and wonderful daughter". Maybe you can work a deal with Nikon to give them some free advertising in exchange for a camera. In the meantime, you may want to pull out the crayons and draw your pictures. By the way, I could still change my mind about the gun -- besides, what's in it for me?

Sgt. Dub... Callie told me about your site so I had to come read and add my two cents worth..
Diamonds really are a girls favorite pick... I have been married 23 years this year and I still am working on getting that diamond out of my husband, the only thing being is that I keep trading it in for a Jeep, a Quad, a 2506 deer rifle and last but not least a Dodge truck... My hubby gets all of his toys too... I guess I am not a good negotiator! But I have to tell you the negotiating is the funnest part! Good Luck :o) and Thanks for all that you do, JustMeShann

Wow,
Sounds like an exciting day. I know that the newer, better camera will take much better pictures that you and Mrs. Dub will treasure for the rest of your lives.
(How'd that sound? It felt pretty good. You think she bought into it?)
