13 October 2006, Well as today is Friday the 13th I will make this post. For 99 % of the world Friday the 13th is considered bad luck. For whatever percent I represent Saturday the 14th has always given me problems. So just in case I fall of this side of the earth tomorrow you know you heard from me today. I've never considered Friday to be evil in any shape or form. I mean if we have to pick a bad luck day, let's make it Monday. Does anyone out there like Monday? I've often said if I was in charge of the weather it would rain on Mondays and be nice the rest of the week.
Overall, today for us here in Afghanistan went pretty good. We saw no attacks here and the weather was nice. I've been trying to work on my homework for algebra and I'm suppose to take a test at some point. (Probably Saturday the 14th) I've finished dinner and after this blog and a phone call to Mrs. Dub, I plan on watching a movie. I'll give you a critic on it afterwards.
It's hard to believe I've been here 4 months already (and gone for 8 months already), and yet it's hard to even remember what home was like. Only 7 1/2 more months if things go right, but then again, this is the Army. Well, enough rambling for now, be safe and have a good day.

How quickly you've forgotten what it's like at home . . . let me refresh your memory. The yard needs to be mowed, the house needs to be painted, there is wood hanging down on the eaves that needs to be replaced, I'm sure you've got laundry that needs to be put away, and when you finish all that I've got some stuff in the garage that needs to be shifted around. Then we can go to dinner. You'll ask me where I want to eat, and I say I don't care -- that is until you make a suggestion and I say "I don't want that". Is it all coming back to you now? I've tried to be very nice and upbeat during our phone conversations, but believe me, I can nag you back into reality so you'll remember what you're fighting for and what you've got to come home to!! Just kidding, you know I love you and I miss you - be careful on Saturday - maybe you should just take the day off and stay in your room.
Hey Sgt Dub,
I believe the puzzle contest is only available to those who are members. But, certainly your blog qualifies to sign up. So head on over to http://payperpost.com/page/blogger, use my email, BobbyGriffin@gmail.com, as your referrer, and sign up. It's free and easy. I got paid $5 each for posting those puzzle pieces...it took like 30 seconds!
sgt dub, here's wishing you well. I hope you find meaning in what you're doing, and know that we respect you very much for your contribution to the world.
Thanks for commenting on my site.
See my responses to your comments. I offer you the chance to guest-blog for me. Let me know.
Whatever, thanks for your comments and for helping keep the world safe.

Ryan was here this week playing in a golf tournament and told me he hit the two best balls he has ever hit. I asked him if he had changed his grip or his swing. He said "No, I stepped on a rake!"
Guess I fell for that one!
Hello Sgt. Dub,
Thanks for linking to my site. I have now discovered yours and it is a great blog. More importantly stay safe out there and get home to your loving wife. Sounds like you have a winner with her.
Thank You for your service. As you've been to my site, I'm sure you know I hold all you boys in the highest regards. I praise you for your law enforcement work, also. Although, not a cop myself (I did work in corrections for a while), I have MANY friends and family members who are or who have retired in law enforcement. Very honorable work.
Again, be safe.
